Wallpaper Brisbane - Professional Wallpaper Installation By Wow Wallpaper Hanging

Wallpaper Brisbane - Installing wallpaper has become a huge decorating trend that we don't see going away any time soon. We are seeing more and more homes and businesses turning to wallpaper to create an individual look that paint just can't deliver.

Today the range of wallpaper available is enormous. The modern wallpapers are a breath of fresh air and very contemporary in styling and design. That's what is making them so popular. It's easy to achieve any look by installing wallpaper.

There are beautiful and glamorous damasks, textured wallpapers, contemporary stripes, luxurious flocks, retro designs, wall murals, metallics, anaglypta designs, florals and kids wallpaper, just to name a few.

There are many faux look wallpapers that resemble wood, bricks and steel. Even designs that look like bookshelves. The possibilities are endless when it comes to wallpaper.

We have found an increased demand for wallpaper hanging right across Brisbane. Many new homes are having wallpaper installed before the owners have even moved in. Most renovations these days are also including wallpaper in the overall design.

Hotels, hospitals, nightclubs, salons, boutiques and small business of every description are using wallpaper to themselves apart from the crowd.

We really love wallpaper because it creates instant appeal. It can be used to create visual interest as a talking point or to heighten a wall or create a 3D effect. We can't say enough about wallpaper and how we get a buzz about seeing our clients when they see the finished product.

Art Deco Wallpaper - Glamour And style From A Bygone Era

Art Deco Wallpaper will give a look of sophistication from the 1920's like nothing else can.

Art Deco was a style centred around streamlined finishes, clean lines, mirrored furniture, crystal lighting and silky fabrics. The Art Deco era was all about fun, fashion and parties which was reflected in the architecture and decorating.

The Art Deco style is still popular today and is enjoying a bit if a revival thanks to movies such as "The Great Gatsby"

At Wow Wallpaper Hanging we enjoy installing wallpaper and seeing the excitement on people's faces when they see the finished result. Wallpaper definitely adds impact to any room whether large or small. In fact it often adds the most appeal in small areas such as landings, bulk heads and alcoves.

Please enjoy the following video that we put together to showcase some of the beautiful Art Deco wallpaper that is available.

Buy Wallpaper Online Australia

Hanging wallpaper is a large part of our business. At Wow Wallpaper Hanging we have seen a huge increase in the amount of people using wallpaper to decorate.

A painted feature wall was the big thing a few years ago but today in 2013 it's definitely wallpaper. A feature wall using wallpaper has many advantages because the range of wallpaper designs are so numerous. Incorporated into many designs are metallics, glitter and textured surfaces. This all gives amazing depth to the wall and draws the eye. Wallpaper can also be quite plain but also be wonderfully alive with intricate detail. Tha colours are simply breathtaking!

Our clients often ask us where the best place is to buy wallpaper. From years of experience we recommend buying direct from the UK. To explain this further please see our main website page advising where we recommend to buy wallpaper and why. This will save you a lot of money and give you an enormous range to choose from. The wallpaper we recommend is available to buy from anywhere in Australia. Please also see our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/WowWallpaperHanging  where we will be adding videos to show different styles of wallpaper available to buy.

We also have a wallpaper blog that we keep updated with many articles that showcase various types of wallpaper and how people are using them in the home. We do this to give our clients ideas and show how wonderful we think wallpaper is.

How To Dispose Of Left Over Paint

People often ask me what they should do with their leftover paint.

Dulux has a product called Dulux Envirosolutions Waste Paint Hardener. it's an environmental way ofdisposing of paint by turning water based paints into solid waste.

This won't work for oil based paints so it's best to pour the leftovers onto some sort of absorbent material to dry such as shredded paper or kitty litter. Once dry it can be thrown out with the normal household rubbish.

If you have large amounts of paint to dispose of then your local council can advice where to go for this.

Don't hesitate to call Wow Painting and Decorating - Painters on the Gold Coast for any painting information or a free quote.

Interior and Exterior Trims

It's the little things that often count the most. As Gold Coast Painters we know when it comes to painting it's the trims that bring the whole job together and create the finished look that our clients are after.

Imagine the exterior of a house with all the trims painted in the same colour as the house, how boring!!
The trims make the house so choosing the right accent colours for fascias, gutters, soffits etc is important. Don't forget that exterior paint has to be good quality to withstand the elements and that darker colours tend to fade quicker than lighter colours. Lighter colours don't absorb as much heat and light therefore last longer and need less maintenance.

Interior trims are just as important to the finished look. Interior trims are always painted in enamel as it's much more hard wearing and looks better with its shiny gloss finish.

Beautiful, glossy skirting boards, door frames, windows, cupboards or doors are the icing on the cake to transform a good paint job into something spectacular. I've seen it before, cutting corners by slapping on a bit of wall paint instead of enamel. For one it looks tacky and for two it scratches off.

It's official, for looks and durability you can't beat a beautifully enameled trim. For all your Gold Coast Painting needs contact us at Wow Painting and Decorating.

Painting On The Gold Coast - Choosing The Best Shade Of White Paint

As mentioned before neutral colours and especially white have been the main colours of choice for decorating with paint on the Gold Coast.

The reason is obvious, these paint colours are popular because they make a space seem larger and more open as well as being the perfect backdrop for furnishings and artwork. A feature wall will look great against the right white and timber against white can't be beaten. The other major draw card is that neutral colours won't date and can easily be made to look fresh by simply changing the colour of a feature wall or a new rug for example.

Wow Painting and Decorating only use the best quality paints and Dulux is the our number one choice. The most popular colours that we worked with through 2009 and up until now are of course the whites and neutrals being; Dulux Hog Bristle, Dulux Whisper White and Dulux Antique White USA.

Not all whites are the same so when people ask for white it's important to get the right white. Don't forget that white can be a cold sterile colour or warm and inviting. Have a look at the area to be painted and take note of how much natural light the room gets and at what time. Do you have big
windows or a space that gets no natural light at all. All this determines the choice of white paint to use.

It's best to use a white with more yellow tones in an area that has little natural light as this will create a warm feeling and reflect light more. If an area has artificial light such as fluorescents then that light will have more of a blue tone than yellow.

Most people lean towards the warmer whites in favour of the more crisp whites but if you have a lot of stainless steel and a minimalist look you'll want cleaner, cooler whites.

Once you have decided on the tone of white, warm or cool then choose two or three of those shades. Get some sample pots and apply at least two coats to a fair sized bit of cardboard and put them up during the day and at night under lights. You can move these samples around from room to room and against furniture to decide what you like best. At the end of the day it's up to you what you decide so go with your gut feeling.

Ceiling whites on the other hand should have no undertone therefore creating a neutral sky above which lifts the ceiling height. A ceiling white should be the whitest of whites.

Gold Coast Painters Wow Painting and Decorating Service Areas

Wow Painting and Decorating have always serviced the whole Gold Coast and also northern NSW. With painting you never know where the next job will be located which makes it interesting. There certainly is never any boredom of working at the same place week in and week out. Wow Painting and Decorating have also painted in locations around Brisbane.
While most of our work is predominantly on the Gold Coast we have also traveled to locations as far as Innisfail and Mackay in far north Qld. This was after the cyclones and severe flooding that occurred in those regions at the time. Most people cannot imagine the devastation that engulfs a whole city after such huge flooding. Unfortunately this week the same level of devastation has occured in Charleville, Roma and St George.
It requires huge organisation and dedication on the part of tradesmen in all areas to rebuild cities after such disasters. It's a long painstaking journey to get people back on their feet and into their homes again. On the part of the tradesmen it's a massive commitment to be away from their families for very lengthy periods of time.
My last stint of working in a disaster area was after the Mackay floods in 2008. I was away from home for 9 months. It's hard to describe the initial shock at seeing just how bad things are and realising how much work will be involved in getting houses livable again. The thing is someone has to do it but it does require huge effort and hard work around the clock, it's 7 days a week of go go go.
We offer our sympathy to the latest victims of the flooding but know that through the efforts of all people throughout the community and the men and women that will be sent there to help rebuild the areas affected by the floods there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
